"CBS This Morning" co-host Charlie Rose shared a few things about his life and interests with CBS News.com as the new CBS morning broadcast launched.

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

There were only three things that ever really interested me. First and foremost, doing exactly what I do now; then, being a filmmaker, or an entrepreneur, someone who creates things.

2. What's your morning routine?

Before I took my position at "CBS This Morning," I would get up between 5 and 6, go to the gym from 6 to 7, come back and walk my dog Barclay from 7 to 8. Breakfast at 8, then canvas the ten newspapers that arrive on my doorstep and patrol through the blogosphere. Then watch last night's television to see what I might have missed, before checking in with my staff about the day ahead. After lunch, a countdown focused on five o'clock and the first interview on "Charlie Rose," my nightly program on PBS.

Now I wake up just after 4 and start reading my e-mails, in case they relate to "CBS This Morning." Then I scan the papers for stories we are covering on the program. Finally I head out for CBS at 5:15. After spending the morning at CBS, I go to the gym, exercise, have lunch, have a nap, and gear up for "The Charlie Rose Show."

After my show, I try to have an interesting dinner, but always home by 9:30 and in bed by 10.

3. Which five albums would you bring with you to a desert island?

Rather than albums, I would take the following: Mahler, Bach, Springsteen, Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen and U2.

4. What's your favorite comfort food?

Fried chicken.

5. What's your favorite film?

"Judgment at Nuremberg." Great movie with Spencer Tracy, Judy Garland, Maximilian Schell, Montgomery Clift, Burt Lancaster and Marlene Dietrich.

6. What's your favorite sports team?

Duke's basketball team.

7. What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

That's easy: Find your passion and act.

8. What historical figure do you most admire?

9. What was the last book you read?

The Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson.

10. Finish this sentence: People would be surprised to hear that I...

...Like silence.
