Suspicious package that prompted NYC evacuation found to be novelty grenade

(CBS News) NEW YORK - A building near the World Trade Center site was briefly evacuated Thursday after an item that resembling a grenade was found in the mail room.

The NYPD bomb squad responded to the scene at 2 World Financial Center and found the object was a novelty item mounted on a plaque with a sign that read "Complaint Dept. Pull Pin."

The World Financial Center is a short distance west of the World Trade Center site.
