PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS/AP) A 27-year-old Mesa woman has been jailed on child abuse charges since Saturday for allegedly leaving her two young children in her unlocked car, while she boozed inside a Phoenix nightclub.

Authorities say Rebecca Barrera was arrested late Saturday night after her children, ages 6 and 8, were found unattended in her car outside the Hurricane Bay nightclub.

An off-duty police officer working for the club saw the children sleeping in the car and called for assistance. Police say the  door was unlocked and the keys were on the driver's seat in clear view.

They say Barrera admitted to being the mother of the children when police escorted her out of the club. Authorities say her blood-alcohol level was 0.15 percent, nearly double the 0.08 legal limit to operate a vehicle in Arizona.
